SIERRA TUCSON COPPER SKY

Designed to enhance the overall treatment experience, integrative model of care, and viewed resident accommodations, integrative therapy rooms, pharmacy center and the expanded facilities for individual treatment sessions and an admission center, all designed to enhance the resident recovery experience.

ALPA was challenged with expanding the Sierra Tucson campus to add space for a new integrative wellness services, outpatient services, and an additional 44 residential beds to the bustling campus. The problem - no immediate buildable areas were available.

ALPA dug deep into the design-build capabilities on the Copper Sky expansion. ALPA worked for a year to alter an existing PAD agreement allowing Sierra Tucson to expand on state owned property. Once approved, ALPA transformed desert into a buildable pad, and subsequently, a beautiful 33,000 SF facility.

Design highlights were specifically crafted to create a beautiful and safe environment dedicated to healing. The project features hand-stacked stone walls, hardwood flooring with inlay accents, wood beam ceilings, copper elements throughout, a spiritual wall fountain named “One Reason” and floor to ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the surrounding majestic desert mountains.

The Copper Sky project was completed safely, ahead of schedule, with exceptional quality and without a single change order to the owner.
